Which Musical Insrument Do You Like?

Music is divine. Music is a part of life to some. Music is larger than life to some others. There is no normal human in the Universe who does not like music. Music is created either vocally or by instruments (not completely agreeable, since Nature is the greatest musician ! ).

Musical Instruments are majorly categorized as:
* String Instruments
* Percussion Instruments
* Wind Instruments

The well known string instruments are:
guitar
violin
sitar
veena
piano etc.

The well known percussion instruments are:
tabla
drums
mridangam etc

The well known wind instruments are:
flute(baansuri)
shehnai
saxophone etc

There are hundreds of instruments in each category, which we do not know. There are hundreds of cultures that we do not know. Each culture has instruments which signify the culture, the history, the traditions & customs of the geographic location in which a culture blossomed. Some instruments are the signatures of a culture but yet renowned world-over.

If we consider any culture, there will, at least, be one instrument from each class. Magic is created when these are properly mixed with a good voice of human (or nature). We get lost in Hindustani, Carnatic, Sufi or any form of music. But, imagine enjoying music without instruments (i.e., only vocals). It will not be enjoyment for a long time, rather, it will be punishment.

The class of instrument that attracts me more than any other is the string instruments. And the particular instrument is the guitar. Guitar is, perhaps, the most versatile instrument of all. Guitar is a classical instrument of the Western music, but yet, it has been embraced to be in our classical music also.

Holy Cows - The Indian Breeds

As we all Indians know that, the cows, a symbol of divinity, are worshipped in our dear motherland. Kamadhenu, a sacred mythological cow that gives you anything you wish for, has been mentioned in our glorious culture. Hence, we love, respect, and worship them, for them being equivalent to God.

We just don't worship them for being given importance in our mythology. In fact, they are extremely useful for us for every purpose. For food in the form of milk & its derivatives, for transportation(bullocks), in agriculture(70% of our population is involved in it, 98% of them are dependent on cattles), for medicines etc., cows are a boon to us. Many people's livelihood is blessed by the cows. This is why they are important, not merely for mythological importance. Read on.

Cow dung & urine have medicinal value. They are proven antibiotics, insecticides, pesticides. That is why we consume them in the form "PANCHAGAVYA" mixed with ghee,curd & milk. But, how many of us realize this? Cow dung has the capability to arrest radiations from radioactivity. They are used in the nuclear reactors in our dear motherland as well as in Russia. The Russians know it, but do we? It purifies the air around it. Hence, some people in Bhopal, who coated their house's floor with cow dung, survived the gas leak tragedy which killed so many people. Cow dung is a known natural fertilizer.

The urine is used for so many(virtually all) diseases. Consumption of distilled "GOMUTRA" regularly, in right quanity, helps develop immunity against many awful & dreaded diseases. It also cures them if ailing from the diseases like high or low blood pressure, diabetes, flu etc. GOMUTRA, mixed in correct proportions with water can be used as insecticides for our plantations, whether in our backyards or in farms. It can also be used to increase our beauty. One special & important thing is, ONLY THE PURE INDIAN BREEDS can give you such usefulness. No foreign bred or hybrids can. If you try gomutra of non-Indian breeds for the said purposes, the effects will be negative.

Some of the Indian breeds of cattle like Hallikar, Amrithmahal, Khilari, Krishna, Malenadu Gidda, Javari can be commonly seen within Karnataka. Other breeds are Ongole, Baragur, Sindhi, Hariana, Kankrej, Sahiwal, Gir, Ponwar etc., can be found in various parts of our glorious country.

There is a huge demand for our breeds from other parts of the world, especially from Western & Australia, because of our breeds' capability to adapt to & survive in any environmental conditions. Other non-Indian breeds; No. Our breeds can thrive even when there is scanty food & water. They are known for not losing their body mass, strength & working ability even in adverse conditions. A very special trait of our own breeds.

If you are interested to know & learn more about our breeds, I suggest you visit Ramachandrapura Mutt near Hosanagara, Shimoga Dist., Karnataka. Do visit the place for peace of mind & cleansing of soul.
